Sun Hungry

By Loco Loba

Fevered breath of spirits
Orange gold air softly caressing shoulders
The sky fades purple to loveworn denim
A thousand miles of liquid energy
Stretched to the limit of mortal eyes
Clouds are laughing smug
Pink and tangerine from the finish line
A ribbon of worn gray blurs
Severed with jagged broken yellow
Chrome flashes sun
Hot rubber grabs for purchase
Leaning structure of a specter
Wields sway over unleashed thunder
Burns in pursuit of elusive wind
Demons like tiles of ancient clay
Unhinge, rip away, shatter
Abandoned dust
Left to vanish into desert sand
